Low Income Energy Assistance Program

The Low Income Energy Assistance Program™ (LIEAP) provides a One Time payment on behalf of families who are paying heating bills.

This is not a crisis program but extended to low-income households who need help paying heating bills. The payment goes directly to the heating Vendor.

Households may apply if at least ONE person in the home is 60 years of age or older
or
An adult who receives disability and services through the State Division of Aging and Adult Services currently resides in the home.

Beginning January 4, 2016, ALL other Wake County residents may apply, if funds available.

Program will end March 31, 2016 or when funds are exhausted.

Please bring with you to the appointment the following items:

1.) A valid photo ID;
2.) A copy of your heating bill;
3.) Social security numbers of all household members; and
4.) Income verification for anyone living in the home.
